FAQ
1 - What does an owner-operator express courier do?

The owner-operator express courier is a professional figure that has acquired an increasingly important role in recent years. They handle express transport and last-mile delivery, delivering goods on behalf of third parties using specially fitted vans for parcel transport.

Fitting out a van for couriers provides a range of tools that will make daily work easier and safer. Being able to best organise the different parcels and goods to be delivered results in an orderly, hazard-free load area that reduces the risk of damaging transported materials.

CEP (Courier – Express – Parcel) van racking is a van fit-out designed and developed for those who need to transport parcels and goods daily. Every element installed in the load area aims to improve organisation and delivery management.

The van fit-out consists of a load area organised with high-capacity fold-up shelves that can be opened or closed depending on the material to be transported. Access to the rear of the van can be via the rear or side door or directly from the driver’s cab thanks to the bulkhead with safety lock.

Modifying the van bulkhead is a highly advantageous intervention in several respects that improves the speed, safety and comfort of daily operations:

    1. Direct access to the load area: the modification does not compromise the vehicle’s structural integrity and saves time by allowing the driver to reach parcels without having to exit the vehicle. This system is particularly effective for frequent deliveries or in urban environments where stops are numerous and close together;
    2. Increased safety and ergonomics: entering the load area from inside the vehicle reduces the courier’s exposure to road traffic, avoiding risky manoeuvres at the roadside. At the same time, it also improves work ergonomics: it reduces physical stress caused by constantly getting in and out and prevents injuries related to incorrect postures or repetitive strain.
  1. High level of load area organisation
  2. Greater protection of transported materials
  3. Increased safety in transport and loading/unloading operations

Vehicle re-registration is required when structural modifications are made, such as replacing chassis elements with the upper crossbar, or whenever a jump seat is installed in place of the front passenger seat.
